HDB My NiceHome Roadshows
Revamping the roadshow experience for new homebuyers in Singapore
The My NiceHome Roadshows by Singapore’s Housing & Development Board (HDB) were created to guide new homeowners. Post-pandemic, HDB sought to reimagine the roadshows as more interactive and community-focused. Our team was engaged to conceptualize fresh ideas.
I conducted guerrilla interviews and facilitated co-creation workshops to understand audience needs. These insights fuelled innovative concepts to inspire a more engaging roadshow experience.
My team conducted 13 semi-structured interviews and 50 guerrilla interviews at five roadshows
Key challenges we uncovered included varying interests across audience segments and families struggling to stay engaged as children became restless. These on-ground insights directly shaped our proposed concepts to address real attendee needs.
From Ideas to Storyboards: Three Final Concepts
-
Interest-Based Communities
A pre-roadshow survey for attendees to share their interests, which are then used to create interest-based groups. This approach fosters a sense of community, especially for individuals who may feel shy about interacting in person.
-
Personalized Program Selection
Attendees are no longer required to follow a one-size-fits-all program. Instead, they can choose from a variety of activities tailored to their interests, such as kid-friendly sessions, and other specialized events. A staggered schedule ensures flexibility and allows everyone to engage with content that resonates with them.
-
Home Visualization Tool
A digital tool enabling homeowners to view and interact with their home’s floor plan. Users can drag and drop furniture, rearrange layouts, and visualize their space in real time, offering a practical and engaging way to plan and design their future home.
